车轴钢小试样及实物车轴中夹杂物尺寸对疲劳强度影响的差异分析

摘要: 测试35CrMo车轴钢小试样109周次旋转弯曲S-N曲线并观察裂纹萌生起始位置。结果表明:试样存在传统的疲劳极限,不出现由夹杂物引起的疲劳破坏。既有文献报道,合金车轴钢小试样虽然不出现夹杂物引起疲劳破坏的现象,但全尺寸车轴试样的疲劳试验却发现夹杂物能引起疲劳破坏。这是因为全尺寸车轴试样所受弯曲应力梯度远小于小试样所受弯曲应力梯度,且含有大尺寸夹杂物的概率较大。考虑这一原因,提出通过超声疲劳试验快速获得试样内最大夹杂物尺寸,并利用统计极值法分别预测小试样和实物车轴内最大夹杂物尺寸的方法。基于预测结果,分析最大夹杂物尺寸对小试样和实物车轴疲劳强度影响的差异。试验结果和分析结果为合金钢车轴的开发和强度设计提供了一定的理论依据。

Abstract: S-N curve in gigacycle regime is obtained from rotary bending fatigue tests by using 35CrMo railway axle steel and the crack initiation site is observed. The results show that the specimens have conventional fatigue limit and the crack initiating from inclusion is not observed. It has been reported that inclusions cannot cause failure in small specimens made of axle steel while the full-scale components fracture from inclusions. This difference is caused by that the bending stress gradient in the small specimens is much larger than that in the full-scale railway axle; meanwhile large inclusion is more likely to occur. Ultrasonic fatigue tests are used to investigate the maximum inclusion in the specimen and the statistic maximum values method is used to forecast the maximum inclusion in a small specimen and a real axle. Based on the difference of maximum inclusion sizes between a small specimen and a real axle, the effects of inclusion on fatigue strength are analyzed. The results provide a theoretical basis for both alloy axles development and strength design.
