Abstract: The principal technology and method of failure analysis and safety assessment are reviewed. At first, the importance and functions of failure analysis and safety assessment were discussed systematically in the advance of sience and techno logy. Then, the basic train of thought, main technology and methods of failure analysis and safety assessment are approached respectively more comprehesively. The enlightenment and help will be obtained from this paper for further development of failure analysis and prevention.
