Integrated Design of Structure and Control for Radar Antenna Servo-mechanism

Abstract: The performance of radar antenna mainly depends on the design level of its servo system. The design consists of two parts, structural design and control design. These two parts are interacting and closely coupled. Usually, the structure and the control are designed respectively, and then they are adjusted according to the requirement. This method often leads to long product development cycle, high cost, poor performance, and bulky structure, thus being unable to ensure the optimal comprehensive performance of the whole servo system. A design model of integrated structure and control is proposed to give the solving strategy and methodology, and they are applied to three typical examples, and satisfactory results are obtained. Both numerical examples and practical experiments demonstrate the validity and correctness of the new model and method, and they are also valuable to the design of other servo systems.
