Abstract: P/M is a special technology for manufacturing metal materials and metal parts. The present article has described the developments of various tributary fields of P/M and the contribution to national economy, science and technology by using various P/M products, and P/M as a new material technology playing an important rote in exploiting new types of functional materials and structural materials. The brief states of the developments of new P/M technology have also been introduced.
