Abstract: The whole optimization method is studied for large mechanical system. The concepts of whole parameters and part parameters are give out. The basic principles are established for dividing the whole mechanical system into subsystems. Three relations of subsystems are summarized in a whole system. By means of reasonable division, the large multivariable whole system can be optimized under low dimensions.
