Abstract: The objective factors of the decision-making problems for tranditional manufacturing are usually three: time, quality and cost. But, for green manufacturing, the authors suggest that five factors, time T, quality Q, cost C, environment impact E, resource consumption R, should be integrated together to be considered. From this viewpoint a decision-making framework model of green manufacturing, TQCER model, is proposed. In the TQCER model, the objective function is f (T, Q, C, E, R) where E means to minimize the environment impact and R means to minimize resource consumption and maximize resource efficiency, and the meanings of T, Q, C are as usual. The decision-making variables of green manufacturing are complicated so that they are classified into a few of categories and formed vector group of decision-making variables. A tech-economical odel connecting the objective function together with the decision variables of the decision-making problem can upbuild the mapping from decision-making variables to decision-making objectives. A case study in which a practical decision-making problem in green manufacturing is analyzed and solved successfully with the TQCER model shows the model is practical.
