Abstract: The flanged connection system is widely used in the fields of modern chemical industry, aeronautics and aerospace. Its structure strength and sealing performance must be guaranteed in pretightening and operating conditions, and the analysis of load-deformation relationship is the basis of studying its structure strength and sealing performance. Its load-deformation relationships in pretightening and operating conditions are investigated by applying elastic theory, in which the flanged system is regarded as integer, in the same time, the effects of rotation of flange ring on bolt force, gasket force, bolt deformation and gasket deformation are considered when the flange system is subjected to inner pressure and external bending loads. The results of calculation and experiment indicate that the equivalent pressure method is too conservative, and the presented analysis method is feasible.
