TWO DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS OF LUBRICATION FOR PISTON RING-LINDER LINER PAIR

Abstract

Abstract: Full numerical analysis of lubrication of piston ring-liner is developed and the Reynolds;equation, film thickness equation and force balance equation are solved by finite difference method. The detailed effects of many different factors are discussed. Calculatied results show that the lubrication performance of piston ring is significantly dependent on those factors. Some insights for the analysis of the performance of piston ring are provided.
