EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON USING SOLID LUBRICATION IN A PLANETARY REDUCER WITH INTERNAL PLANET GEARS

Abstract

Abstract: An experimental investigation on using solid lubrication is made in a planetary reducer with internal planet gears. An idea, which the heating from oil film squeezed is the major part of power loss in high speed transmission, is put forward and explained. The solid lubrication method is applied to the reducer. The experimental results show that the solid lubrication can get a higher efficiency compared with the oil lubrication. The experimental investigation suggests a way for increasing efficiency of the reducer.
