Abstract: A new method of determination the machine set of curved tooth bevel gears—third order contact analysis method is discussed briefly. The contact characteristics calculated by this method are compared with those obtained by TCA method of Gleason works, and the result shows that, besides other advantages, third order contact analysis method is reliable and practicable.
