Abstract: 　　As a first step of investigations, in the present report, a non-backlash contact equation of cross helical gear drive was introduced and a conception of a virtual lead correction of a shaving cutter was proposed. Furthermore, the numerical solutions for the deflections of a shaving cutter due to a concentrated load were obtained by FEM.
