A NEW APPROACH FOR HIGH ACCURACY TRAJECTORY CONTROL OF NC MACHINE TOOLS

Abstract: According to the request of NC technique and equipment development towards high speed and high accuracy, a new high accuracy trajectory control technique is worked out. The kernel content of this technique is to generate tool's moving trajectory with high frequency and high resolution sampling interpolation, to assure the accurate implementation of the expected trajectory through the new position control system with double closed loop of rotating and linear displacements, and to eliminate the influence of mechanical error and disturbance to trajectory accuracy by means of trajectory correction using informatics method, so as to make the controlled machine tool run with high accuracy and for long period in the production environment. The new NC system developed thereby has been used on varieties of NC machine tools and very good results have been obtained.
