Abstract: An intelligent CAPP system is implemented to solve the complex problem of EDM techniques. An expert system and an artificial neural network are combined to realize an EDM CAPP system. Rules-based simply Petri Net(SPN) is set up for intelligent selection of machining type, and compound neural networks(CNN) is applied to select and expend exactly the electrical parameters respectively.
