Abstract: High-accuracy beam scanning, pointing and tracking is the key problem in the precision measurement and control fields. Based on the relationship of hundredfold reduction ratio from the prism tilting angle to the beam deviation angle, the project of high-accuracy optical scanning with the cascade orthogonal double-prism is presented, and the scanner is developed, which meets the requirements of fine steering the beam deviation in a large range. The main principle of the scanner, as well as the design indexes and the calculation results, is introduced. The mechanical structure, control system and integrated design of the scanner is respectively presented, and the deforming and the vibration modes of both the front prism and the second one is analyzed. The test calibration for the scanner is completed. The results show either the pitching angle range or the azimuth range is no less than 1 400 rad, and the scanning precision is better than 0.8 rad, which well meets the design requirements. The scanner development has an important engineering value for the solution of high-accuracy optical dynamical and static tracking and aiming.
