A Review of Design and Dynamics for the GTF Aero-engine

Abstract: As the representative of green aerodynamics, the geared turbofan (GTF) aero-engine has some advantages including lower fuel consumption rate, less noise, minor pollutant emission and so on. Aiming at supplementing the knowledge reserve of GTF and causing our country scholar's concern, the GTF aero-engine is introduced in some key fields, such as development background and research status. The main presentation focuses on the dynamic responses of planetary gear transmission system. It is detailed reviewed in system modelling, dynamic characteristics vs nonlinear dynamics, and power load sharing and especially experiment and fault simulation study. The possible faults for GTF aero-engine are addressed. The technological difficulties and further studies needed are given at last.
