Abstract: The influence of water condition on vehicle dynamic behavior is brought to light through the complex method with theory analysis, experiment investigation and numerical simulation. The adhesion property of under dry condition, water condition and oil condition between wheel and rail are tested separately on JD-1 wheel/rail simulation machine, the adhesion coefficient under these condition is analyzed. The results indicate that, compared with the dry condition, the adhesion coefficient under water condition decreases 50%-60%, the adhesion coefficient under oil condition decreases to 0.02 even. The vehicle model is built according to the parameters of EMU vehicle, and the vehicle dynamic performance is analyzed when vehicle passing the irregularity track. The results show that the littler adhesion coefficient can decrease the lateral displacement and accelerator of wheelset. The littler adhesion coefficient leads to smaller lateral displacement and accelerator of wheelset, and water condition between wheel and rail can enhance critical haunting speed of the vehicle with new or measured wheel profiles.
