Abstract: The noise of engine intake system is one of the most important noise sources of an automobile. In a bid to meet the higher and higher requirement of ride comfort, the control and matching of acoustic property of intake system is of vital importance. An acoustic model of intake system is built according as the three-dimensional model, hereinto the acoustic model of quarter wave tuner is parameterized. Based on the theory of pipe acoustics, the method of noise simulation of engine intake system—no-source-method is studied, by which the simulation of orifice noise of intake system is carried through. Based on design of experiments analysis, the method of sensitivity analysis of quarter wave tuner based on orifice noise is studied, by which the sensitivity analysis of quarter wave tuner parameters is carried through. Even without the engine simulation model, the acoustic simulation of orifice noise of intake system still can be carried out, and through sensitivity analysis the design parameters of quarter wave tuner is determined. The method of sensitivity analysis of quarter wave tuner based on orifice noise is highly valuable in engineering application, and provides theoretical basis for parameter design of quarter wave tuner.
