SOLUTION OF SINE PRESSURES ON A HOLLOW CYLINDER AND THE LIMIT WHEN k→0

Abstract: An analytical solution is derived for the sine stress distribution in a hollow circular cylinder with inner radius a and outer radius b. The solution of the problem of stress distribution symmetrical about an axis is obtained by using a new stress function. And the limit of the pressures that isn’t varied about an axis distributed in a hollow circular cylinder is derived. It is the well-known lame’s formulas for the stresses in a hollow circular cylinder subjected to uniform pressures.
