ALGORITHM TO QUICKLY CALCULATE THE INTERSECTING LINES BETWEEN FREE-FORM SURFACES IN CAD/CAM

Abstract

Abstract: The algorithm to calculate Intersecting lines of free-form surfaces is of great importance in CAD/CAM technology, may obviously influence running efficiency of a software. However, the widely used dividing surface method with Bezier can hardly meet both needs of high precision and high speed. In order to solve the problem, a fast algorithm based on geometric information of intersecting lines is proposed, which can meet the requirements of high precision and high speed at the same time, and has been successfully applied.
