MEASUREMENT AND PREDICTION OF FORM DEPARTURE IN LARGE MACHINE FRAME WITH TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION

Abstract: A methmetical model of temperature field in a large machine frame is structured from which the numerical solution of temperature distribution can be obtained. The results in surface temperature distribution of a reduced scale model from the above calculation compared with that from experimental measurement are relatively indentical. Based upon these values, the thermal deformation in a structure is calculated using a structure analysis program package SAP-5. In its primary stage, a new method of form departure measurement with temperature compensation is thus obtained.
