Structure Assembly Quality Controlling Technology Oriented to Performance Assurance for New-generation Aircraft

Abstract: Assembly is the key link in product research and development, and it locates at the end of manufacturing, affecting the performance, quality and reliability of aircraft directly. With the development of automation and digital technology, the consistency of design and manufacture of parts has been significantly improved, and the guarantee of assembly performance of the whole product is shifting from initial design/machining link to assembly gradually, which has attracted extensive attention. Firstly, according to the technical connotations and extensions of aircraft assembly major, combining with the new quality controlling difficulties brought by the new generation aircraft in structure, life, performance and materials, technology status was reviewed from the aspects of assembly accuracy transfer and quality control, and composite assembly. Secondly, considering the assembly process and quality control links in practical production, technical bottlenecks existing on assembly site were pointed out, and the domestic technical gaps were summarized, so as to analyze the technical connotation of high-performance assembly and establish a four-dimensional model of “geometry-force-data-quality” orienting for assembly performance assurance. Lastly, from aspects of geometry, mechanics and data, the development directions for new generation aircraft structure assembly at the basic theory and method level, were pointed out, which would lay a solid technical foundation for achieving high-performance assembly and reliable service of aviation products.
