Abstract: A framework of customers oriented virtual design environment is presented. To construct the product family model expediently, a special feature language is constructed. The product family consists of two subfamilies, product data oriented and geometrical modeling oriented family. An arithmetic of the approach of product configure is also described. In the user side, the virtual modeling entity of the product is converted into an interactive VRML file which enables the customers to browse the virtual product model vividly. As an example, in the virtual design environment. An instrumental cabinet is designed by both designer and user.
