Abstract: A new concept, singular entropy of mechanical signal, is proposed based on the singular value decomposition technique. The peculiar properties of singular entropy in such fields as information quantity evaluation, information components analysis, estimation of signal noise ratio (Rsn), noise cancellation, etc, are reveled by experiments, from which the important scientific value of singular entropy on the comprehensive analysis of signal is fully exhibited.
