Abstract: The first author Ni Che-fu, coming from the workers, through years of practice in this job, has grouno the standard drills and changed its original eometrical shape, with the result that their cutting properties have been significantly improved. This new drill was initiated in 19B3. During the last eleven years, it has been widely spread in our country, mid was adopted in some factories abroad. The results have been proved satisfactory. Peoples used to call this new drill as Ni Che-fu drill. In the last two years, the shop .experience of using this drills has been summerized rsystmatically and also a theoretical analysis made about its geometrical-shape.It hns been proved; through long time production practice and scientific research, that the NI Che-fu drill is one of the best drills and it is worthwhile to use it more .extensively hi production.
