Abstract: In the conventional theory, the mechanism of cutting marks formation in metal cutting Vibration has been treated as a simple repro-duction of tool-work vibration. However, such theory may mislead researchers into wrong concclusions and thus create confusion; In this article a new concept is introdued which deals, we think, more adequately with this problem than the convensional theory.
