Abstract: Based on the discrete theory and computer technology and by numerical simulation method, with the wear state of hinge configurations in a crane-block mechanism as the object, a simulation model is established for the mild wear mode , in which load and temperature are taken into consideration, and a generally usable software is developed. By introducing the concepts of position vector and wear step, the continuous wear process is discreted, realizing the dynamic simulation of the movement law of the hinge mechanism. A concept of probabil-istic wear lifetime is presented. By Monte Calro method, an example is adopted showing that the credibility calculating of the probabilistic wear lifetime is realizable for the hinge mechanism, solving the credibility prediction for wear lifetime of components. Results show that the complex wear process could be simulated by numerical method, therefore the tradi-tional research method only relying on experiment is overcome. By a series of discrete quasi static models, the dynamic non-linear wear problem that could not solved by the classical calculus is resolved, showing good prospects in practical engineering application.
