Abstract: This text summarizes in general the futures and the trend of development of modern mechanical sciences and technology. It expounds that as one of important and basic engineering sciences, mechanical science and technology has performed a positive function in promoting the development of economy and society. Based on the above explanation, the author briefly analyses the present situation of the development of mechanical science and technology and mechanical industry in our country. He also points out the problems and deficiencies existing in our research work and tries to probe into feasible ways which will help us expand both our mechanical science and technology and mechanical industry.
