RELATION BETWEEN FATIGUE PROPERTIES AND STRENGTH DUCTILITY OR TOUGHNESS OF 45Cr STEEL

Abstract

Abstract: A Semiquantitative relation between fatigue properties I. E. da/dN, △K (th), σ (cn) etc. and strength ductility or toughness were derived in steel. The relation was investigated with the help of fatigue crack equivalent stress-strain map which is indicated by macro-strength and micro-ductility or toughness. The results show that the optimum balance between strength and ductility or toughness is the maximum product of macro-strength and micro-ductility.
