Abstract: The fluid inside the multi-stream cryogenic wound-pipe heat exchanger (CWHE) is mainly helical cross flow, and it is difficult to determine the mathematical calculation model of the pressure drop on the pipe side under cryogenic conditions such as natural gas and hydrogen liquefaction, which cannot provide a theoretical basis for the design of cryogenic kinetic energy loss; a systematic physical model of the cross structure in cryogenic spiral wound pipe, a mathematical model of different scale spiral wound pipe units, and a numerical model of pressure drop units are established; a calculation model and method for unit spiral pressure drop are proposed for different spiral wound pipe models, and numerical simulation research on pressure drop of unit model is conducted; the experimental models of spiral wound pipes with different structural parameters are constructed and the unit theoretical model and numerical model are experimentally verified. The research shows that the method of unit spiral pressure drop can be used to solve the engineering calculation problem of pressure loss on the pipe side of complex cryogenic wound pipe heat exchangers, and provide a theoretical basis and engineering design method for pressure drop calculation of spiral cross wound pipes of different scales and structures.
