Analysis and Experimental Study on Contact Force of Rub-impact Fault Oriented to Full Coefficient of Restitution

Abstract

Abstract: The rubbing fault is one of the frequent faults in engineering. In the process of studying the mechanism of rubbing fault and the harm it causes, the rubbing force plays a very important role. The most important problem in analyzing the friction force is to obtain the positive impact force, also known as the contact force. The commonly used contact force model is a function of damping, stiffness and so on. The collision process is analyzed, the numerically exact solution of the hysteresis damping ratio in the contact force model is derived and the different types of energy losses in the collision process are considered in detail, and the conclusion that the actual hysteresis damping ratio should be smaller than the numerically exact solution is obtained. After that, the energy loss analysis process is improved by proposing the equivalence coefficients, and the new contact force model with full coefficient of restitution is obtained by taking the conclusion that the actual hysteresis damping ratio should be smaller than the numerically accurate solution as the selection condition. Then the classical bouncing ball problem is analyzed by using the new model, and many characteristics and properties in the collision process are obtained through the simulation experiment of the bouncing ball model, and finally the collision experiment of the small ball is carried out, and the validity of the model is verified by experiment.
