Research on the Dynamic Characteristics of NUSL Flexible Hinge Slider

Abstract: A complete analytical model of the static and dynamic characteristics of an ultrasonic flexible hinges squeeze film bearing is established on the basis of the compressible gas hydrodynamic lubricating theory. With the nonlinear numerical methods model is solved. Dynamic characteristics of the air ultrasonic squeeze film at specific cases are obtained, and the effects of the exciting amplitude, frequency and film thickness on dynamic characteristics are discussed. According to the results evaluated, exciting amplitude, frequency and film thickness influence the dynamic properties significantly. The dynamic characteristics increase with the increase of exciting amplitude and frequency, while the dynamic characteristics of air ultrasonic squeeze film decrease with the increase of film thickness. The effect of frequency is almost linear. The exciting frequency is higher, the stiffness and the damping is bigger. The stiffness and damping of the squeeze film increase with the increase of frequency. The reasons leading the results are presented.
