Simulation Analysis of Wheel Wear Based on the Model of Tγ/A-wear Rate

Abstract: The model of wheel material wear is built based on the Tγ/A-wear rate curve of CL60 wheel from laboratory. The simulation of vehicle-track dynamics of C80 freight car's model built by SIMPACK software is performed. And the law of wheel wear is analyzed by the model of material wear based on the Tγ/A-wear rate. The numerical results under the working condition of 25 tons axle load and wheel passing through 600 m curve shows that the wear of the leading wheelset is severer than that of the trailing wheelset in same bogie. Compared with inner rail wheels, the outer rail wheels shows serious wear. The wear value computed by Tγ/A-wear rate curve is smaller and more precise compared with the model calculated by Archard wear index owing to the fact that the input parameter values of the Tγ/A-wear rate curve is continuous. The model of wheel tread wear based on the Tγ/A-wear rate provides important methods to wear prediction of wheel tread under the complex service conditions in future.
