Abstract: For three-parameter isolation systems, the resonance frequency associated with the optimal damping and the frequency associated with the maximum internal friction angle are analyzed. On the basis of parametric analysis and the mechanism of three-parameter isolation, a three-parameter vibration isolator is proposed. Experimental tests are conducted to verify the theoretical model and evaluate the performance of the proposed isolator. Experimental and analytical results demonstrate that the natural frequency of the three-parameter isolator associated with the optimum damping is exactly the frequency corresponding to the maximum frictional angle. Furthermore, the dependence of isolation performance on the parameters of the isolator is also tested. In addition, a design procedure of isolators is provided for future research in the micro-vibration isolation.
