Abstract: An integrated design approach of deployment trajectory and control system for deployable space antennas is proposed in view of the large impact of deployment. The input trajectory of driving cable is synthesized by Bézier curves, and by using the kinematics expression of antennas, the output trajectory of antenna deployment can be calculated. The feasibility to obtain different trajectories by altering Bézier curve control points is discussed and the basis for optimization design of deployment trajectory is provided. Then, based on dynamics analysis of antennas, the control system is proposed. Considering the coupling relationship of deployment trajectory and control system, optimization method is used to select the Bézier curve control points and controller gains simultaneously for the purpose of reducing impacts on antennas. Design variables, constraints equations and solving method of this optimization problem are discussed, and the simulation process is presented. Typical numerical simulations demonstrate the validity and rationality of this integrated design approach.
