Green Product Configuration Design Based on Constraint Satisfaction Problems

Abstract: Targeting at realizing green design for mass customization, based on the comparison of constraint satisfaction problems (CSP) methodology and green product configuration design, CSP is taken to solve the green product configuration problem. According to the characteristics of the requirements of green product customers, the constrains in the process of green design are divided into proposed constraints and compulsory constraints, then the green design oriented product configuration constraints conversion and expression method are given. According to the characteristics of green product design, the traditional backtracking algorithm is improved, and single-dimensional constraint filtering module and recommended constraint satisfaction degree calculation module are merged into the backtracking algorithm, to put forward the algorithm of green product configuration based on CSP. Taking the product configuration of automatic soybean milk maker as an example, the above mentioned method is validated and analyzed. It has been demonstrated that the present configuration design method can realize the optimized configuration of product environmental attribute, functional attribute, structural attributes of products and economic attribute in short time.
