Abstract: Elastic-plastic deformation of wide strip in tension levelling is researched with finite element method(FEM) software MARC according to 1550 CDCM’ Tension Leveller of BaoSteel for the first time. Up to now, there is still no calculation of the elastic-plastic deformation with analytical method. In order to describe behaviors and principles of the tension leveller for wide steel strip levelling well and truly, a series of new definitions and descriptions are put forward. Based on large numbers of numerical simulation and systemic analysis, some new rules of tension levelling and relations between elongation and technics factors, such as intermesh, tension, the woking roller diameter and strip’s specification and material quality, are discovered, and many significative conclusions about tension leveling technology and tension leveler behaviors are obtained.
