Abstract: Bio-manufacturing is an interdisciplinary research area, which is based on the development of rapid prototyping technology, biomaterials and biomedical technology. The jetting technique for biomaterial is one of the key factors in bio-manufacturing engineering. The principle, using range, advantages and disadvantages of the jetting techniques such as screw extrusion, piston extrusion, pneumatic extrusion, micro-droplet, laser-guided direct writing, electrostatic spinning and DPN are researched, on the basis of practical applications. The new progress of those technologies also is introduced. The scaffold shaping accuracy and complex degree are partly decided by the choice of nozzle. The right jetting technology is selected by the comparison of micro-droplet diameter, assembly efficiency and using biomaterials. The developing trend fits into the following four directions: fitting more board biomaterials based on filling the required precision, heightening of shaping precision in the range of application biomaterials, improving the order of magnitude in precision and reducing effect on the biomaterials.
Key words: Bio-manufacture, Micro-droplet, Rapid prototyping
