EDGE DETECTION BASED ON SCALE MULTIPLICATION IN WAVELET DOMAIN

Abstract: A wavelet based edge detection scheme by scale multiplication is proposed. The dyadic wavelet transforms at two adjacent scales are multiplied as a product function. And the edge is defined as the local max value in a certain threshold. It en-hances the ability of recognizing the edge and suppressed the noise. It is shown that the scale multiplication can achieves better results than either of the two scales, especially on the localization performance. It also can solve the problem arou- sed by dislocation neighboring edges and reduce the interfere- nce of neighboring edges.
