Abstract: The quality flux of granular solid is one of difficult parameters in technical press. The traditional methods for measuring the quality flux of granular solid include with impact quality flowmeter, or with the combination of volume flowmeter and densimeter, the former is not fit applying to thin particulate flow and it’s accuracy is not high for dynamic measurement; the later is rely on the change of temperature and pressure. According to the extinction methods and Radon Inverse transform, the quality flux and flow regime are obtained by with optical scanning and tomographic imaging technique. In the experiment, by utilizing home-made sensor with 15×5 fan beam stracture, the flux measurement and dynamic imaging are carried out for arenaceous quartz(granularity is 0.5~ 1.0 mm) which fall down from a certain height. The experiment result illuminate that the measurement accuracy is under 1%, the range of granularity is between 0~3 mm, and the lower and upper limit for flux are 1.7×10–2 kg/h and 1 350 kg/h. The experiment result will be a guidance for actual application with this novel optical measurement.
