Abstract: The background and importance of networked manufacturing system (NMS) is briefly expressed. The operation paradigms of NMS are first classified, and then the fundamental framework, strategies on the operation management, and the related supporting technologies for NMS, are introduced respectively. A successful paradigm on the application of NMS, Chinese Manufacturing Cooperation (http://www.cmc.gov.cn), is introduced for instance, especially focused on the technology. In the end, several suggestions are put forward about the re-search, development and application of NMS.
