Abstract: The mechanism and key technology of dynamic finite element method in sheet metal forming are described, The main factors influencing analytical precision and efficiency are stated. A quadrilateral thin shell element model on the base of co-rotational theory and strain velocity is studied with a new local coordination system, in which ideal integration can be realized and the necessary sandglass control in Belytschko-Tsay element is avoided. The feasibility of area coordinate quadrilateral thin shell element is elaborated, which improve analysis precision and efficiency of sheet metal forming. And the detail formulation is evolved.
Key words: Area coordinate, Explicit finite element analysis Co-rotational formulation, CFD-DEM, Hard brittle material, Particle-wall collision, Surface-constrained softness abrasive flow
