Abstract: There are two rupture modes-rupture on the wall and at the punch shoulder of the truncated conical parts in hydraulic counter-pressure deep drawing. The upper bound chamber pressure-punch stroke curve, under which none of the rupture modes happens, is obtained by theoretical analyses and numerical simulation. That the rupture may happen at punch shoulder at earlier stage of drawing and rupture on the wall at later stages is indicated by the curves and validated by experiments.
