Abstract: The poor control accuracy problem engaged in random vibration control, which is put forward many years ago and remains unsettled, is presented, and then a potential solution – multiresolution control scheme is pointed out. Random vibration control is theoretically proved to be divesible in detail, and a multiresolution control scheme based on multirate system is proposed and discussed. Some important technology involved in the algorithm, like decimation, interpolation and their optimizations using poly – phase decomposition theory, the rule to determine the parameters used to design related digital filters, and the computation scheduling, etc. are all discussed in great detail. At last the algorithm is programmed at Dactron’s shaker control platform, and used to control a shaker system. The experimentation result shows great improvements in low frequency control property, which gives the most powerful proof to the success of the new algorithm.
