Abstract: The nonsteady state variables are analyzed. The equations of elastohydrodynamic lubrication of the involute spur gear mesh are developed. Its complete numerical solution is obtained along the line of action of the two gears. It is pointed out that the nonsteady state effects should be taken into account in the equations of elasothydrodynamic lubrication of the spur gear mesh.
