A CAD SYSTEM INTEGRATED 3D FEM SYSTEM FOR BULK FORMING PROCESS SIMULATION

Abstract

Abstract: The following technical difficulties of bulk forming process 3D FEM simulation: information transfer in multi-stage forming, 3D hexahedral remeshing, precise geometrical description techniques for 3D die and dynamic boundary treatment are summerized, and the corresponding solution techniques are developed. By using these techniques, a CAD system integrated 3D bulk forming FEM simulation system, the Forming3, is developed by authors, then, the main capabilities of the system are introduced.
