Abstract: Effect of thermal cycling on the martensite transformation and two way shape memory effect (TWSME) in Cu-Zn-Al alloys in studied by means of transformation parameter measurement, optical metalloscope observation and X-ray diffraction. As thermal cycling numbers increased, the transformation temperatures increased there versible martensite amount dereased, the TWSME declined and the width of transformation hysteresis ring became nerrower. The thermal cycling destructed the order degree of the alloys, and produced the remain martensites which are very stable. The properties of anti-thermal cycling of the alloys can be enhanced by enlarging grain size, increasing mass fraction of Al and properly raising the confined training temperature.
