FINITE ELEMENT MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF INTERDENDRITIC LIQUID FLOW IN CONSIDERATION OF EFFECT OF SOLIDIFICATION SHRINKAGE

Abstract: Based on the usual conservation principles, mass, momentum, energy and species conservation equations are derived for the interdendritic liquid during solidification by introducing awne variable A. The mathematical model is applicable to the finite element method to simulate the time-dependent solidification processes and interdendritic liquid flow in consideration of the solidification shrinkage.
