ANALYSIS OF VIBRATION IN STRAIGHT BEVEL GEARING

Abstract: A dynamic model of the straight bevel gear transmission is established, the translational vibrations of rigid bodies of pinion and gear in every directions and the rotational vibrations of gearing system, including the moments of inertia of pinion and gear, machines connected to the input and output ends, were considered. The transmission error of the pair of bevel gears that is made up of the alternation of meshing stiffness and manufacture error was regarded as the main excitation of system. Then, a series of time-varying differential equations describing the motion of system was derived. Authors obtained the numerical solution by using Fourier series method and drawn the course of dynamic load on teeth. Further, the dynamic loads at different rotational speeds were calculated and the dynamic behaviour of straight bevel gearing was cleared, which would provide an accurate and effective approach for dynamically designing a straight bevel gearing.
