A STUDY ON THE TEMPERATURE FIELD OF HYBRID BEARING

Abstract: By means of the adiabatic theory and thermohydrodynamic analysis, the steady state characteristics of the double-row narrow recess hybrid bearing bearing is studied. For the complicated flow-field in this kind of bearing, method of solving the energy equation under complex boundary conditions is put forward, also is a new method for calculating the oil temperature in the feed recesses, and a treatment on cavitation boundary. A finite difference computer program was developed to numerically solve the generalized raynolds equation, the energy equation, the equation of centinuity, the heat balance equation, and a viscosity-temperature relation simultaneously. Experimentals on bearing temperature are done to verify the calculated results. The temperature distribution near bearing surface are measured under different working conditions. The measured data correlate well with calculated results, confirming the validity of the present theory.
