Abstract: A theoretic condition of producing negative rigidity in machining is discussed in this paper. It is obtained that double rigidity axes, which differ in size, are basic condition of producing negative rigidity. By theoretic calculation and test, it is advanced that machining precision is raised effectively with the changing area from negative rigidity to positive one.
